Live meditation Danis Bois – 8 Septembre 2021 – The opportunities to encounter the inner movement (#28 Replay)

This meditation is the second one of this third term. As per the previous meditation and in order to integrate newcomers, I guided a basic meditation around the creation of the conditions that facilitate the emergence and perception of the inner movement that constitutes the distinctiveness of Full-Presence Meditation.

Reminder of the three basic conditions

  • Remaining silent
  • Settling into a motionless and relaxed posture
  • Lowering the eyelids

First opportunity to encounter the inner movement: listening to the silence

  • Remaining silent to connect with our inner silence and the great silence that occupies the whole of space
  • Listening to the silence: birdsongs, urban sounds and the absence of noise; “We step aside to immerse ourselves in silence, the first channel of connection between the participants which enables us to connect to a place of calm within”.
  • Having a caring attitude towards silence, through which the relationship to the silence becomes a quality of presence. Silence then becomes a quality of self-relationship.
  • Opening to the silence of the group, which creates a unity, a whole, whilst giving access to the space and amplitude of the silence.
  • Feeling the difference between observing and listening.

The first opportunity to encounter the inner movement arises when your quality of presence meets the quality of presence of the group – a kind of mixing between you and the group, between you and what is greater than you are. This first opportunity involves otherness with regards to the silence, to presence and to encountering.

Second opportunity to encounter the inner movement: observing the visual atmosphere

Turning our attention on the coloured atmosphere that appears when our eyelids are closed. What is the colour that appears? Is it fluctuating or stable? Motionless or moving? Does it appear outside or inside of you? Or is it as much outside as it is inside you?

Observing the presence or not of the coloured atmosphere that shows through our closed eyelids constitutes an opportunity to become aware of the emergence of the inner movement.

Third opportunity to encounter the inner movement: turning our attention on our body’s motionlessness

  • Becoming aware that the whole body is motionless by doing a scan of the various parts of the body that are motionless
  • Identifying where there are minutes movements and oscillations and regulating
  • Maintaining a relaxed motionlessness by doing a scan of the various parts of the body and how relaxed they are
  • Making a link between motionlessness and how we relate to the stability of the moving silence

The motionlessness of the relaxed body offers the opportunity to become aware of the presence of the movement within us. Motionlessness creates a supporting point that facilitates the emergence of the inner movement within matter and reveals its presence. Feel the magical moment of the encounter between motionlessness and motion, where both cohabitate and co-exist within us.
